Investigation of Non-Fatal Shootings

NYS DCJS is supporting two demonstration projects, in the cities of Newburgh and Utica, which provide for more intensive investigations of non-fatal shootings to improve arrest and prosecution rates.  We will provide research support to both demonstration sites, which will be directed toward developing project protocols, ongoing analysis to identify and describe program processes that facilitate or thwart best practices, feedback to each site to promote fidelity to project plans, and quantitative estimates of the impacts on investigative outcomes.
